OK, so this is just weird... tonight is the first night one of the Bosnian channels is showing a LIVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL GAME!!! I can't believe it! I just cannot believe it... I'm leaving, and they bring American Football to Bosnia... why?????? I'm mean, I'm glad and I hope it goes well so they have it one next year when I am here... but it's just so weird! It's the St Louis v. Seattle game. Don't really care about either team (except I did pick Seattle in my family's football pool, so GO SEATTLE!), but I'll stay up to watch it in fascination anyways... it will be weird with the Bosnian commentary - actually that may be kind of interesting. I should tape it and then really listen to it this week for langauge practice and see how they translated the football terms and all.
The fans will be nothing compared to European, or Bosnian, soccer fans. That aspect of the game may be a bit boring for me. I've learned some pretty, um, colorful and creative words and phrases from going to and watching soccer games here. Yeah, I dont' expect to see any flares in the stands, or people breaking seats to through atthe opposing teams fans. I don't expect firecrackers or riot police. I don't expect to here any mothers slandered (ok, maybe a little, but not using the words they use here!!). I don't expect to see many people smoking - only taking the cigarettes out of their mouths to yell things about the refs half-mother... yeah, remembering that one still makes me laugh and blush a little...
Anyways - hope youe are having a great football Sunday - next week I get to see Monday night football while eating Papa John's and drinking 7-Up. Oh goodness, I can't wait!!

Aargh... Bosnian TV again...

Ok, I'm finding the whole football thing kind of odd. I doubt very much that it will last, but it would be cool if it did.
Hmm...it's odd that it didn't come on. Stupid Bosnian TV. It's ok. Just a few more days and you won't have to put up with it. Send me some Papa Johns... I love you!
aargh... so i get all excited about the game - and it's not on!! I should have known better... what is wrong with me?? They just had a commercial for it a few minutes ago and now there is a movie on... aargh...
ok, well the game just came on (the beginning of the 2nd half)- first time for live american football on bosnian TV - or so the announcer said... ok, it's weird watching football with bosnians calling the game... weird!!! ok, you should hear them pronounce "seahawks" But then again could an american announcer calling Bosnian soccer get "Salihamidzic" correct the first try??
American football huh? Strange, i never thought that would happen.
