My coolest blog ever...

Ok, I LOVE coming to Rachel's house. Rachel is one of my best friends from college, and we always have a blast when we're together. People think we are so odd - we think it's great that after 16 years and living so far a part we can still finish each others sentences. Rachel's husband, Pete, is in the air force - they've lived alll over the States - Montana, Alaska, Kansas, Florida (and they are heading back there soon), and currently in Virginia as Pete works in the Pentagon. Guess where I got to go for lunch today?? Oh yeah, I got to go to the Pentagon! It was so cool! It was so much fun! Those of you who know me well know I LOVE this kind of stuff. I'm not much into tour groups and site-seeing, but to know someone somewhere cool like that - very fun!! So I got a little personal tour as I snubbed my nose at all the tour groups "HAHA I have a PERSONAL tour guide!!" I know, very sad and un-missionary like, but it was still quite fun. :)

I was able to visit the 9/11 memorial chapel (where the plane crashed int o the building), walk around the enourmous halls, eat a very good salad, look out the windows into the courtyards, and see lots of cool paintings in the halls and such from walking around the building. It was a blast!! And this is the kicker... Donald Rumsfeld was less than 5 feet away from me - and I didn't see him!! Rachel was walking on my right, and this guy almost ran into her, so she stopped short to move out of the way and looked up - it was Rumsfeld... and she didn't hit me or grab me or signal me in anyway... aargh... She's an etiquette consultant, so that may have played into it, but still... I was 5 feet from Donald Rumsfeld!! :)

The only downer of the day was when I went to the gift shop and couldn't find a pentagon emblazoned spatula... long story..

It was a GREAT day and I am having a wonderful time... I leave tomorrow for Atlanta - I look forward to seeing all my Atlanta friends soon!!
