Other stuff...

Darka, Tanja, and I have been meeting at a cafe once a week for Bible study and encouragement. They head back to the States on August 17, with their classes resuming the 23rd. We've been enjoying studying Ruth the last two weeks, and are moving on to the book of Esther next week. They are also attending the Baptist church with Nela and I while they are still in town. i think they enjoyed meeting some of the other Bosnian believers this past Sunday along with some of the other Americans who work here in Bosnia. I'm really enjoying getting to know them :)

I haven't posted a picture of Skoobi in while, so here she is sunning herself on MY lounge chair on MY balcony... more power to her. At least she didn't ask for a mint julep or anything...

I had the best taxi ride today. I went to visit my friend Paula on the other side of town, and it was so hot, I decided to take a taxi. The guy was so nice - so chatty! So we were talking, and he asked me, "So, where in Bosnia are your parents from?" I was confused, so I asked "what? My parents are American." He said "Really?? You said you were from America, but I thought your parents were from Bosnia and you were here visiting... your Bosnians pretty good, but your grammar is a bit off, so I just thought it was because you grew up in America..." I was so taken a back because it's been quite a while since ANYONE has had anything nice to say about my language! And he was just so genuine, it was a nice little encouragement that I needed. Either that or he was a trifle bit deaf in his right ear :)
