It's kind of nice to hear from people say "Hey, you haven't updated your blog in a while." I like that people read it.
So tonight I was planning on watching Survivor, but Itunes hasn't a uploaded it to download yet. That's quite disappointing. I hope they have it ready for downloading soon.
I did have a nice birthday. You saw the pictures of my party on my last post, and then on Sunday my friend and former team leader from Sarajevo, Wendy, came and spent my birthday with me! It was great - we had so much fun. After church Sunday evening we went to my favorite restaurant and ate Asian food to our hearts' content. On Monday, my actual birthday, we did what every good American girl wants to do on her birthday - shopping! I had just paid off my credit card, so I was good to go :) I actually kept my spending in check, but I did buy a few fun things - a nice plant Wendy helped me pick-out was the highlight of my spree. It's almost as tall as me, and the hook was when Wendy said - "That one is easy to take care of, and really hard to kill." Into the cart it went :) It looks great in the living room. I'm very pleased. Then later that evening we went out to eat again and talked and talked and talked... did I mention Wendy was the first American I have seen in two months?? Yeah... I probably talked WAAAAAAY too much!
This evening I rearranged my living room furniture, and some in the bedroom. Again, it was Wendy who gave me some ideas, and they are totally working. I have some more to do, but by the end of the day tomorrow, I'm going to have one nice looking apartment. I want to go buy one more plant, and yeah... I'm going to be rocking. Then I just need to get my ceiling fan installed and I'll be pretty content in my little apartment.
Skoobi made a new friend in the park - a baby beagle puppy! It was so cute watching them play yesterday. I thought Skoobi was going to kill the poor thing, not because she was being mean, but that she was just so much bigger than the pup! She'd trample it, but the beagle would just pop up and say "Ok, bring it on, I'm up for some more!" The beagle's owner and I were just laughing and laughing. I hope we get to see them again. She was really nice, and I was very happy Skoobi made another friend. Since Skoobi is behaving more and playing with dogs, I've been able to talk to some people in the parks and such, and so that's been really good for me.
Here are a couple pictures of the park. I really hope I can get a digital camera soon...
