Fireworks and a Sick Puppy

Well, the last couple days have been interesting. The fireworks that started Thursday night were actually the start of an International Fireworks Festival. So every night starting at 11:30, a half hour long fireworks show begins about 500 feet from my apartment :) So, this early to bed, early to rise person hasn't been on the best of schedules. I think tonight is the last night of the festival. One can only hope.

Another thing is that Skoobi has been sick. I was supposed to go to Varazdin to church today, but Skoobi started being sick yesterday morning and is still having some problems this evening. I have the phone number of an emergency vet who does home visits, but with it being Sunday and a holiday weekend, I just don't know if I can afford it. I've checked her symptoms on a website, and I'm pretty sure she ate something bad (she's always eating something off the ground when we go on walks). She's not dehydrated, not anymore lethargic than usual. She's eating and drinking fairly normally (although the site said I should withhold food for a while). If she still has the frequent loose poopies tomorrow, I'm going to call the doctor. I'm just glad that if she has to be sick, I'm here and not in America. How horrible to be sick without your mommy :)

Otherwise, I visited Ljubica yesterday for breakfast. That was fun to spend sometime with her. I bought her a sweatshirt from the States. She loves my gray hoodie, so I was thankful to find one in Oregon for her. She really liked it. Today is her birthday. She's 71. I didn't see her today since Skoobi was sick, so I was glad to spend some time with her yesterday. (Skoobi and Ljubica pictured below)

Ok, well, I guess that's about it for now. I'll post again soon. I am going to do a cat blog (don't tell Skoob), and then one in response to an email I received... talk to you soon!
