Firsts...

The first printing of the Bayash Bible for Children has been published. Here it is pictured below. You can see more pictures of the Bible in the hands of the kids on Bob's blog: http://roma-diary.blogspot.com/

We finally had first snow this past weekend. It was almost a relief - you knew it was coming and the tension was just growing and growing and you could feel it in the air... OK, that's probably quite over-dramatic, but now that it has snowed, it can snow anytime and it's just snow. It made everything nice and pretty, but a south wind blew in this week and now you'd never know we had any of the white stuff at all.

Skoobi loves the snow, as you can see in these couple pictures above. It's nice having the yard as now i don't have to bundle up every time she wants to go out. We did play snowball catch for a while, and that's always fun.

Below is just a strange thing... Skoobi hates the bathroom. It's where I send her when she's bad or when I need her to be gone for a while, like if I have a repairman over or something. But she REALLY hates the bathtub. I haven't given her a bath in years because life is just too short to deal with her kicking and screaming (My dog is very clean, don't worry, I brush her like a mad woman, and I spot clean her when she needs it). But anyways, the last two days I've come home to paw prints in the bathtub and shampoo bottles knocked off the shelves! It's so weird. I have no idea why she would want to go in the tub... It's very twilight zone-ish, especially for those who, back in the early days, knew the trauma of giving the mutt a bath!

Yesterday (Thursday) Anita and I went to Zagreb to have lunch with Ivanka (Zlatko's wife). Anita and Ivanka are pictured below. It was really nice to see Ivanka as I don't get to see her that often. We had a great lunch at the new mall, and just chatted and had a good time. It was nice to get out of town for the day and of course, we had to do a little shopping. I had to buy a new mixer/chopper thing because mine broke and I pretty much use it every day. I also finally bought a full length mirror! After six years, I finally don't have to stand on a chair and look at my reflection in a window to see if I look semi decent in my outfit... I spoil myself...

Sanja, my language teacher and I had some hang out time yesterday. A huge, new store opened up here in Varaždin and so we decided to check it out. The stuff is so expensive it's just ridiculous. We weren't planning on buying anything anyways, but even if we were, we wouldn't have been able to! We had a lot of fun, which was the point of it all. I'm glad Sanja and I are able to be friends outside of my little tutoring session. Pray for her as she'll be gone all next week taking tests back at her college.

I love this picture of Skoobi. It's just so cute... That's her "Oh please don't make me come in I really really want to play some more in the snow" face. :)

My Thanksgiving dinner was canceled, and so yesterday was just a regular work day for me. But it was nice to go visit Zdenka and then hang out with Sanja. I did make some turkey chili for dinner, so at least I had some of the bird :) I am planning on making a small Thanksgiving dinner for a couple people the week after next. It will be nice.

Well, I guess that's it for all. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, and I'll try to post again soon... I had a really fun video to post, but I couldn't get it to download. It's the second video on my camera I've lost, so I need to figure that out... but anyways - more later!

There's almost too much here for me to be able to comment on all the things I would normally comment on...

The Bible thing is really cool. I use to have one of those (ya know...the English one) and I loved it...it's probably still around here somewhere.

So far I haven't really had to deal with snow except for a few flurries overnight a few days ago. I wouldn't have even known it happened if I hadn't been up all night studying.

Thanksgiving wasn't a huge deal for me either. I mean, we had the dinner and everything, but it didn't feel any different from a nice meal with people over who I didn't know. I don't care though. I'm not at school and I get to sleep. That makes me happy.

As far as your mutt in the tub...that's WEIRD!!!!!! We always knew she was a strange dog but...dang...

Ok, long post=long comment. I'm done now, although I'm sure I forgot something...
