The Sky is too Big...

I decided this morning that the sky here is too big. I've been looking around the neighborhood and town when I go out, and it looks a lot different with many trees and such gone from all the hurricanes that blew through the last year and a half. But that wasn't it... why is the sky so big? I finally figured out this morning. There aren't any mountains, and there aren't any clouds. It's just this vast, blue sky with nothing stopping it. It just goes on and on for what seems like forever. It made me feel very small. I've felt small before, so that wasn't new. I was surprised at how insignificant I felt. Everytime I go outside and I just feel so... out of place. It's not really something I've experienced before. It's weird...

It's also weird that milk is sold in jugs and I have to remember to put it in the refridgerator because if I don't it will spoil rather quickly. I was shocked to see juice in a liter box at the grocery store yesterday. A variety of fresh fruits ad vegetables was prety exciting as well. Turning right on red is fun, but remembering the rules for stopping for school buses is not. Buying new jeans was VERY exciting - my first clothes purchase in 2 years - woohoo! It was not exciting trying to decide what soda to buy at the check-out refridgerator. How many kinds of soda can you possibly have? People here are also very nice. I like being treated nicely when I shop in a store. Stores here are way too big - it took me forever to find my mom in Wal-mart last night. Granted, she's pretty short and all, but still...
